Ducati has awarded Pirelli the prestigious 2010 Best Product Innovation Award, an award which goes to their most innovative supplier of the year. As a means of determining what company should receive this coveted award, Ducati puts the decision to a committee consisting of members of its production and testing departments, who then analyse and evaluate the performance of its suppliers from all angles.
In particular, Pirelli has been picked as a result of the excellent work in the development of new Scorpion Trail tires for the Ducati Multistrada and Diablo Rosso II in its new 240/45 ZR17 size for the Ducati Diavel.

This award confirms the strong, productive relationship which has developed between the Borgo Panigale factory and the R&D staff. Pirelli continued to deliver in 2011, with the development of the new street Diablo Supercorsa SP in a 200/55 ZR17 size which will be the original equipment tire on the new Ducati 1199 Panigale.
