Join a club and get up to 15% off your motorbike insurance

It is no secret that we are living in tough economic times. Motorcyclists, like everybody else are searching for ways to save money, including saving money on essential items such as motorcycle insurance. The question is, how can a person lower the cost of insurance without a reduction in cover?

Motorbike insurance from The Bike Insurer

Bikesure has just come out with some pointers on how to save money on motorcycle insurance cover. Bikesure, one of the largest specialist motorcycle insurance brokers in the United Kingdom, says that some motorcyclists are still failing to disclose some factors that have the potential of cutting the cost of their premium.

One way that motorcyclists can reduce the cost of their insurance is to get a qualification. If a biker can prove that they are a skilled motorcyclist and have a good level of experience on a bike, by having been qualified in a course like a Ride Drive scheme, a motorcyclist can save 25% right away on a Bikesure motorcycle insurance policy. Additionally, younger motorcyclists can usually save enough money in the first year to pay for the course.

Another thing that a motorcyclist can do to save money on their insurance cover is to join an owners club. Joining an owners club can give a biker an immediate savings. Bikesure offers up to a 15% discount to motorcyclists who are currently members of recognized motorcyclists or riding club.

Other factors that can save motorcyclists money on their insurance is things such as a Limited Mileage policy, for bikers who do not drive many mile and a  multi-bike policy for those who own two or more motorcycles.

Bikesure has a wide variety of specialist insurance policies for motorcyclists that include cheap bike insurance plans for performance and custom motorcycles, scooters, trikes, quad-bikes and bug riders. In the qualifying event, Dunn took third place, then got off to a good start in race one, racing well until he hit a rutted whoop area that caused him to crash. This crash caused Dunn to slip back to seventh place in the pack of racers. However, by some determined racing Dunn was able to work his way up through the pack, before a slip-up in the final lap caused him to drop back into forth place at the finish. In the second race, Dunn did not get off to such a good start, he grew weary in the last few laps causing him to cross the finish line in the ninth place, which gave Dunn sixth place overall.

Meanwhile, across the country, Dan Thornhill, another Suzuki team racer was racing in grand style as he won every race that he participated in on his Suzuki RM125 two-stroke cycle at the Mepal track in Cambridgeshire. Thornhill gave this impressive performance in the opening races of the BSMA Championship.

Leon Haslam took first place in his very first Superbike win, and he accomplished this win on a Suzuki! Haslam who races for Alstare Suzuki, finished first at the opening race of the  Superbike World Championship that was held at Philips Island. Haslam and Sylvain Guintoli, Haslam's fellow Alstare Suzuki rider, were leading the pack for a good portion of the second race, however, Carlos Checca, who rides for Ducati shot down Haslam's hopes of taking first place in the second race. Still, Haslam, due to his awesome first place finish in race one, and his second place finish in race two was number one in the Superbike World Championship, leading the nearest opponent by nine points.

Sylvain Guintoli performance was also an encouraging note for the Alstare Suzuki team. Guintoli showed that he was able to run in the lead and was also a Superbike contender. Guintoli was ahead of Haslam for eight laps out of 22 and seemed to be right at home at that pace. This race was Guintoli's first race of 2010 with the Alstare Suzuki team, riding on the new Suzuki 2010 GSX-R1000 bike. Even though he did not make it to the podium, Guintoli did not go home empty handed, he was awarded a trophy for the fastest lap in the second race.
