In what proved to be an extremely busy Saturday afternoon during the seventh round of the British Superbike Championship that was held at Snetterton, Alastair Seeley and Michael Laverty of Relentless by TAS Suzuki took fifth place and sixth place respectively in the rescheduled British Superbike Knockhill race that was postponed due to bad weather conditions last Saturday. Prior to this race, the two Relentless by TAS Suzuki riders had to race in the qualifying session for Sunday’s British Superbike race; in the Roll for Poll session, both riders were able to make the very important Q3 session, as they qualified for a second row start in Sunday’s first race, being in sixth and seventh place.

In the 20-lap rescheduled Knockhill race, Seeley who was on the front row of the grid was eventually able to pull ahead of his Laverty to the fifth position, which left Laverty in sixth. In the opening of the race Seeley was able to get the jump on the pack as he was followed by team mate Laverty. Seeley was putting some marginal distance between him and the pack until the race was red-flagged for light rain in a controversial red-flag decision. In the 18-lap restart of the race, Laverty got off to a better start between the two Relentless by TAS Suzuki riders; however, Seeley was the one who in the end came out ahead of Laverty after some battling in the middle of the race. Laverty’s sixth place finish in this race places helps him to maintain the fourth position on the table at 156 points, as Seeley’s fifth place finish has him now in the sixth position at 112 points.
