Alex Stone is the founder of Bike Insurer Services Ltd, the company that publishes www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk. which is the 1st bike insurance comparison service in the UK.
Alex launched the company in 2004 following extensive research into the commercial viability of creating a price comparison service just for motorcyclists to use in order that they could save money.
Today, Alex is one of the most respected figures in UK insurance and The Bike Insurer is the biggest price comparison site in the World for motorbike insurance.
According to a report published today by a leading research house its being claimed that Alex Stone has changed the whole way in which motorbike insurance is sold today.
The report, created by Biking News states that 'Motorbike insurance premiums have dropped by over 20% in the previous 24 months, largely because of the risk in price comparison websites, a phenomenon created by Alex Stone, the entrepreneur owner of The Bike Insurer.'
Biking News go on to discuss their findings into the state of the UK motorbike insurance market and their further findings include such statements as;

'Brokers are now being forced to reduce commission and fees on motorbike insurance policies more than ever. We see this as a good thing for the riding public...'

Commenting on this report, Alex Stone says "I'm naturally delighted to be credited with the drop in insurance premiums, although I am a very small cog in a very big wheel. Yes, creating bike insurance comparisons was my idea but its the team around me who make it possible for so many riders to save money. We have a panel of nearly 30 insurance brokers, each of which specialise in a certain area of the bike market. Whilst I don't agree that price comparison sites alone have forced down the cost of motorbike insurance, I do think that with brokers jostling for market share, naturally price is always seen as an important factor and when there are so many brokers offering very similar products, the consumer often prefers to insure with the cheapest broker, particularly in today's uncertain economic climate. If this means brokers offer discounts then so be it"
