A new track for the 2011 AMCA Motocross Championship, lands itself at Tunstall Hall in Shropshire. With consistant overnight rain the forecast for once being acurate, qualifying was slippery and deep ruts. Lee Dunham, on the Maxxis Henderson L.P.E Kawasaki posted 3rd fastest time which gave a great choice of the gate, Lee knowing that the start would be crutial in the races.

Unfortunately bad luck in moto 1 gave Lee Dunham a disapointing 27th, however he displayed great character to bounce back from a very heavy
crash and still earn 6th overall during round 2 of the AMCA MX Championships at Tunstall on Sunday.

Indeed moto one was to prove to be rather disastrous after being knocked off by Shaun Pearce before the race
had even reached the second turn!!. Undeterred, Lee picked himself up to then blast from last up to 10th diecing his way through the pack before an unfortuante big off. A slight mistake on a huge jump landing into the track markings. Again restarting last, Lee was to eventually finish 27th, but those 14 points gained could prove to be vital come the end of the season!!.
Despite a massive headache and blurred vision, Lee made a great start in moto two and briefly led proceedings before being passed by eventual winner Clinton Barrs. However showing an abundance of spirit and character not giving up Lee bravely chased Clinton all the way to the chequered flag to take 2nd spot, just over two seconds in arrears.
In almost a repeat performance, Lee took another strong 2nd spot in the
final race of the day behind Clinton. Reeling Clinton in at one stage, however back markers casuing issues for the front runners and Clinton managed to creep away just enough to hold onto the top spot with Dunham 2nd and Turner 3rd in the final moto. OK so Tunstall did not go quite to plan, Lee is still only 59 points off the top slot and
with another 18 motos to contest. With 60 points up for grabs at each race 180 on the day.

Lee Dunham: 6th Overall
”Today was tuff. I was taken down by a guy who clearly wasnt in control. It filled my goggles up with mud and i couldnt see properly for the whole race. I then couldnt see some ruts on the take off of the huge table top and it crossed me up landing on the ropes and steaks!. Oh man I was so sore. I woke up and saw stars. For the whole day I couldnt focus on distance. I really wanted to not let it affect my points and my goal was to win the next 2 to claw some points back. I ended up with two 2nds..Disapointed. Leaving now with a huge headache still, and my eyes are all over the place- just going to rest up now ready for Cezcho European Round in 2 weeks. I want to win”
