Amendments to the Moto GP Regulations

The Grand Prix Commission recently decided to add the following amendments to the Grand Prix rules. Listed below are the amendments as reported by the Grand Prix Commission.

Motorcycle insurance from The Bike Insurer

Amendments for the MotoGP Class:

Grand Prix riders are prohibited from practicing on bikes that are eligible for the MotoGP class under the following circumstances:

i) In the midst of the season and during breaks at any of the circuits that are included in the Grand Prix calendar of the current year with these exceptions:

a) Scheduled practice sessions along with the events.
b) Practice on the day right after the Spanish Grand Prix and the Czech Grand Prix and on the two days right after the last Grand Prix.
c) Any practice that has the approval of the Race Direction.

ii) In the wintertime at any circuit with these exceptions:

a) A maximum of six days of official tests set up by Dorna/IRTA to take place at Grand Prix circuits that is on the calendar of the year prior or the year following. There will be no test allowed during the time of December 1 of one year and ending on January 31 of the next year, the only exception is rookie riders who get one three-day test in November/ December.

The wintertime testing schedule must have Grand Prix Commission approval.
