The Taree Motorcycle Club’s second annual twilight meeting on January 21st will see Troy Bayliss returning to the track where he first began his motorcycling career 24 years ago.
Club vice president and meet organiser, Gavin Pennell: “He started out here and this is the first time he’s been back at the track since he left to pursue his career. He was happy with the track and as he left said ‘see you in a couple of weeks’.”
Bayliss will attend the meet first and foremost as a competitor, but he will also be bringing a fantastic collection of Ducati bikes from throughout his career for fans to have a closer look at.
Troy retired to The Gold Coast after winning his third World Superbike championship title, and was proudly inducted into the Greater Taree City Sporting Hall of Fame in 2010.
