Oxford-born rider, Bradley Smith, says he is ready for the MotoGP challenge ahead, after signing a two year contract with the Tech 3 team. Smith, who has past experience in the 125cc and Moto2 championship, says he is not fazed by the thought of racing with the top riders in the world and is in fact ‘respectful’ rather than ‘fearful’ of their prowess and ability.
The 22 year old rider will now head to Malaysia to take part in pre-season testing, and in preparation for that, and in order to gauge his fitness, he has been undergoing sessions with Everton Football Club’s coach, Steve Tashjian. Even though he is heading for a brand new challenge, Smith says he is confident that the premier class won’t change him;
‘I am, and continue to be, the country boy from Oxford. I have a great family and group of people around me that keep me level-headed…my life may get busier in MotoGP but I don’t intend to change.’
