Buying a Motor Bike

How do you find the right motor bike for you?

You have either just made the choice to own a motor bike or you have owned a bike for years. With so many new models of motor bike available, where do you start? Whether you are simply upgrading your existing model, buying a bike for the first time or simply fancy something different, the choices out there are immense.

Here is our guide to what you should take into consideration before you buy.

Before you part with your cash – research! Nowadays it’s easy, search the internet, go to bike meets and shows, visit main dealers, buy the Bike Trader or better still – click onto their site.

You should weigh up what you are going to be buying a motorbike for? Is it going to be your only mode of transport, something for fun at the weekends or maybe you are planning a riding holiday?

Once you know what type of bike is going to best suit your needs, research it! Read reviews in magazines and talk to other bikers on internet forums. Have a look into any common faults that the make/model you have decided to buy may have.

The biggest problem you will probably face when buying a motor bike is how much you want to spend! Have a look at “bike for sale” advertisements on the internet, your local paper or the Bike Trader, these will help give you an average cost on the make/model you have decided you want to buy.

As there are now so many avenues you can take when purchasing your motorbike it’s well worth pricing up both new and used models to give yourself options. Go to main dealers in person or check out their websites.

Basically, a little bit of research will go a long way!
