Sunday, October 24 2010

Having completed the 2010 World Superbike Championship with a win and a second place at Magny Cours a fortnight ago, Cal Crutchlow finished the racing season with the Yamaha Sterilgarda World Superbike Team by securing fifth place in the standings and by winning the title of rookie of the year. After getting only a few days worth of rest, Crutchlow begin his move into the MotoGP realm from World Superbike by getting right down to business. Crutchlow completed a day and a half of testing on the Yamaha YZR-M1 at the Yamaha test track in Fukuroi, Japan. Even though there were mixed weather conditions, Crutchlow was able to test ride the M1 with both wet and slick Bridgestone tyres, making a good impression on everyone with how fast he was on the wet test track. Crutchlow also took the time to practice with the M1’s launch control.

While he was in Japan, Crutchlow paid a visit to The Yamaha Motor Company Hqs and to the Communication Plaza in Shizuoka, which gave Crutchlow the chance to have a close-up look at some of the Yamaha machines from the past up to the present day.

Upcoming will be the Valencia test on November 9 and 10, and 2011 will see Crutchlow racing in the MotoGP World Championship with the Yamaha Monster Tech3 team beside Colin Edwards.
