Cal raced for the Yamaha team in 2009, and is slated to continue racing for Yamaha team in 2010. In 2010, Cal will be racing alongside James Toseland on the Yamaha World Superbike team; Toseland is a fellow brit and a two-time world champion.
Cal Crutchlow's winning of the World Supersport title worked well for one of his sponsors, CIA insurance. In addition to sponsoring Cal, CIA Insurance also sponsored Eugene Laverty who races for the Parkalgar Honda team who came in second for the title. This resulted in two of the competitors that CIA sponsored winning first and second place in regard to the World Supersport title. CIA has been sponsoring Cal for two years, and it was the first year that they had come on board with Eugene Laverty's Parkalgar Honda team. Cal extended thanks for the support of CIA and stated that he was delighted to repay their confidence in him with the World Supersport title.
