Chris Martin - motorcycle photographer
Chris Martin who won the top award in the Events category at the 2009 Master Photography Awards is a prominent photographer in the motorcycle world.

Chris gave a brief account of how he got started in motorcycle photography and a brief history of his experiences as a motorcycle photographer in a press release on his website. In this press release, Chris stated that he developed a love for motorsports photography in 2001 and that his passion for motorbike racing was such that he chose to be devoted to it full time and see what happened.
Chris stated that at the first he went to club meetings and sold pictures that he took directly to the riders. Soon after he began to have photographs published in, local publications and his work began to get greater exposure. After he worked the club racing scene for a few seasons he decided to try for a media pass for the World Superbike Championship and to his surprise he was accepted on his first attempt. At this event he was able to capture on film one of the racers crashing at high speed which resulted in his motorcycle going over the crash barriers and smashing into the crash fence that was five or six meters above ground level. The sequence of photos that he took of this crash was featured on the front page of Motorcycle News; these photos put Chris Martin on the map. Chris went on to do photography for other motorcycle events and photography for teams such teams as the Rizia Suzuki British Superbike team.
