Saturday, January 30 2010

After the success of the first clean emissions motorcycle race on the Isle of Man in 2009, the Department of Tourism and Leisure for the Isle of Man announces that clean emission motorcycle racing will indeed return to the Isle of Man TT in 2010. The Isle of Man Department of Tourism and Leisure, the promoter of the event on January 28, 2010 confirmed that there would be a clean emissions motorcycle-racing event on the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course as a part of the TT racing for 2010.

The ‘TT Zero’ race is an important part of the Isle of Man TT schedule for 2010 with the Isle of Man Government awarding  £10,000 to the team that is the first to achieve a 100mph lap. The event is the child of the Isle of Man Government, with a number of departments of the Isle of Man government being involved with and supporting the clean emissions event.

The first clean emissions race in 2009 has received a lot of credit for speeding up the development of clean emission transportation. A good amount of the technology that was showcased at the Isle of Man is expected to become a key part of the future of mass-market transportation. The clean emission motorcycle race has been given a new name, the ‘TT Zero’, and is a part of the Isle of Man’s Freedom to Flourish campaign.

The TT Zero race is open to all clean emission cycles and will be held on Wednesday, June 9th at 4.30pm as part of the core TT racing program at the Isle of Man.
