The search has begun for the 2010 advanced rider of the year 2010, as the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) offers a new Yamaha motorcycle that is worth up to £11,500 to the person that can outdo all others in a round of tests of a rider’s motorcycling prowess.
Being the top independent road safety charity in the United Kingdom, IAM is using the Advanced Rider contest as an opportunity to promote their Skill for Life programme, a programme that has been designed by bikers, to be used by bikers, to help them to become better and safer motorcyclists.
The terms of the New Advanced Rider of the Year 2010 competition state that up until August 31, 2010, those who purchase the Skill for Life rider programme and who get a passing grade on their IAM advanced bike test will automatically be given an opportunity to win a new Yamaha.
Vickie Butler-Henderson, a journalist and broadcaster commented that she believed that the IAM was clearly committed to motorcyclists and to our interests. She spoke up about how that she for one was planning on taking the challenge and that she was going to apply for an IAM Skill for Life programme come spring time and also that she hoped that others would join in with her to further develop their riding skills and to heighten their riding pleasure.
