Crutchlow and Smith enjoy a positive second test

Monster Tech 3 Yamaha’s Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith have taken part in a positive second test at Sepang with both riders finishing inside the top ten.

Crutchlow was fast out the box, setting a time of 2.02.272, which immediately put him into second place. A slippery surface and a high track temperature however meant that a faster time on the day wasn’t to be, so Cal had to end the session in sixth position on the time-sheets.

Bradley Smith was quickly lying in tenth position after creating a personal best time of 2.03.632, but a crash on the twenty-fifth lap put an end to his day. Fortunately, he walked away unhurt after losing the front of his YZR-M1 on Turn 7.

Despite the less than perfect conditions, the day was still a positive one for the team, who gained valuable information on their machines. Bradley said;

‘This morning was another good learning process for me because the track conditions was completely different to the first test…The crash was a learning process too…now I know the limit, now I know what the warning signs are I’ll be better prepared in the future.’
