Crutchlow has concerns for 2013 MotoGP

Tech 3 Yamaha’s Cal Crutchlow says he is concerned that team will struggle to match its 2013 success, unless it manages to get more support from its parent factory, Yamaha.

After finishing in an impressive seventh place in 2012, Cal has told the BBC that he feels such a position will be difficult to replicate this year, not only because the other teams are offering up such strong competition, but also because  the Tech 3 machine hasn’t been upgraded as he would have liked;

‘We haven’t got anything new; the bike at Sepang was exactly the same that we raced in Valencia last year.’

He added that one of the main reasons for the struggle was down to the fact that other teams were receiving more support from their factories; teams like Gresini and LCR;

‘We’ll see what we get for the second test, but we need Yamaha to be helping out there.’

This year sees Tech 3 Yamaha fielding an entirely British team, with Cal and Bradley Smith competing for the title. All that remains is to watch this space.
