Wednesday, November 17 2010

Dani Pedrosa, Respol Honda team racer was told that he needed an additional four weeks of rest for his recovery from the collarbone injury he recently incurred. Pedrosa was examined by Dr. Xavier Mir in Barcelona, Spain at the Dexeus University Institute Hospital. The Spaniard went to the hospital to receive additional tests to determine the cause of the numbness and absence of strength that he was experiencing in his shoulder and left arm. This condition has been affecting Pedrosa’s racing performance in the last races of the 2010.

Following the two days of testing, which consisted of a CAT scan, MRI, electromyography and Eco-Doppler testing, it was determined that Pedrosa did not need additional surgery. After his four weeks of rest, Pedrosa, who nailed second place in the MotoGP World Championship in the last race of the season at the Valencia circuit this past Sunday, will begin a rehabilitation program and physical training to get him prepared for the first MotoGP tests for the 2011 season. The opening tests will take place in Malaysia in February.
