Frequently taking wins and podium finishes throughout 2011, Buchan has now added to his successes by winning the Alec Wright Memorial Team Green Trophy- so named after the Green Team UK founder, Alec Wright.
The award goes to the Kawasaki Team Green rider who shows unwavering commitment to upholding the Team Green sentiment and spirit throughout the race season.
18 year old Buchan has come a long way over the course of the 2011 season, fighting through injury and tough competition to finish the season as a runner up in the Superstock Championship.
Buchan: “Being part of the Team Green set up has certainly helped shape me as a racer both on-track and in how I conduct myself in the pit box and paddock. I can honestly say that without the structure that Team Green provides I would not be the successful racer I am today.”
Racing Coordinator for Kawasaki Motors UK, Ross Burridge: “Alec Wright set the foundations in place for a very special approach to racing that has benefited
thousands of riders – many of whom have become champions and household names. For Danny this is a singular honour and we are proud to award the 2011 Alec Wright Memorial Team Green Trophy to him”.
