Ducati Xerox Team Finishes Testing at Mugello

Saturday, September 4 2010

As they are getting ready for the coming Nurburgring round of the World Superbike Championship, the Ducati Xerox Team completed two days of testing. The testing took place at the Italian circuit Mugello. Ducati’s two factory riders shared the testing, Michael Fabrizio was out on the track on Tuesday and Noriyuki Haga took his turn on the track on Wednesday. The two days of testing was a profitable endeavour for each rider coming off a month long break.

In the Tuesday testing session, Fabrizio took more than 65 laps around the track as he laboured with his technicians to achieve a best time of 1m52.0 on a Q during the afternoon session. Haga hit the tracks on Wednesday morning as he faced a hot day for riding. Haga’s day was much the same as Fabrizzio’s, as he took close to 60 laps by the end of the session recording a best time of 1m52.6 out on the track. The testing consisted of trying out diverse lap set-ups and testing new tyre solutions that were supplied by Pirelli.

Noriyuki Haga commented that the testing days were helpful in letting the riders get the feel of the bikes again after the summer break and that it was a useful preparation for the upcoming weekend German round of the World Superbike Championship.

Michael Fabrizio said that he hoped the test would help the team make a good race at the coming event.
