Following the confirmation of riders Sylvain Guintoli and Jakub Smrz, who saw that Team Effenbert Liberty Racing reached 4th place in team classification during last season’s World Superbike- only the Czech team’s first year of participation in the championship.
For 2012, CEO Doc. Mario Bertuccio and the Effenbert Liberty management team have decided in light of the new regulations, to increase focus and put investment into the program of development for young riders.
The first addition to the team is promising young French rider, Maxime Berger. With two podium finishes in the FIM Cup Superstock 1000, Berger made his debut in WSBK riding the Ducati 1098 for the Supersonic Team, who finished in 7th position in race two of the last world championship appointment, the Portugal Grand Prix. Berger was invited to test the bike in Portimao during October and achieved great timings- showing his worth and potential as a contender for the 2012 season.
