Fuel prices still rising
So I read a report in the paper this morning that said the cost of a barrel of Brent Crude oil, the type we buy in the UK and use in our cars and bikes, has dropped by about 25%.
So I thought this would be good news and we could all start looking forward to getting fuel again for the same prices as before this latest rip off started.
An hour later Im on my bike at the local petrol station and fill up. I then remember that fuel is supposed to have gone down in price - but mysteriously no sign of that at my petrol station. So I get a reciept and ride home. Then I manage to dig out a reciept from a couple of weeks ago when I bought fuel. I check my reciept from last time and I was charger at £1.22 per litre. And this time......£1.23 per litre.
Thieving gypsy scumbags. Ive added Shell to my hate list of companies (just behind Go CONpare).
This gets me thinking. In a climate decidedly dodgy climate where we are bordering on recession, the government continues to take 67p in the pound income for every litre of fuel we buy. If you look at fuel this time last year, the cost was around the 90p per litre mark and now its risen to £1.20 ish, and therefore the income into the government has risen massively also. We are being absolutely shafted by the government and Mr Brown is the man responsible. He has the power to help out the UK motorist but just chooses instead to sit there on his fat asse scoffing kebabs all day and spitting remains at the little people on the ground.
I tell you, I would love to be the Prime Minister for a week. Our government have zero clue about how to run a business and they need to be kicked into shape before they are kicked out.
