The final day of testing in Jerez proved to be a good one for the Fixi Crescent Suzuki team, with Leon Camier and Jules Cluzel managing to complete a full day in dry conditions.
The weather dried up in time for Camier to use the day to get the most out of his Suzuki GSX-R. Setting the fourth fastest time, his quickest lap came on the final of seventy-seven, when he managed a time of 1’41.184. The good conditions enabled him to evaluate his engine as well as sampling the new seventeen inch tyres he will be using in the campaign.
Jules Cluzel had an equally positive experience on the day, coming in an impressive ninth overall, with a fastest lap of 1’42.635. The next outing for the team will be at Phillip Island, when the duo will experience four days of testing in preparation for the first round. Speaking of the final session, Leon Camier said he was looking forward to the upcoming season;
‘To be honest, I’m quite happy with the way everything has gone at the test. We had both a wet and a dry day so we were able to try lots of different things… It will be good to get to Australia and push the bike a bit harder, as it’s a much quicker track and we’ll be able to see what it can do there.’
