Next year’s new ‘Classic TT Races’ has had two riders sign up for action, in the form of TT star Guy Martin and former British 125cc champion, Daniel Cooper. The races are to go ahead for the first time in 2013 and the signing of the two modern day riders is a coup for the event.
Both riders have agreed to ride for Team Molnar Manx Norton’s in the inaugural 500cc Classic TT race, which is due to take place on Saturday 24th August 2013. The team itself has been absent from the event for ten years, but has enjoyed success in the past, winning the Senior Classic Manx Grand Prix in 2000 with Glen English and in 2002 with Richard Quayle. No doubt they’ll be hoping for a return to glory this time around. Andy Molnar from Team Molnar Manx said;
‘We are delighted to have secured the services of Guy Martin who is one of the fastest riders ever around the TT Mountain Circuit. He has all the attributes to make best use of our machinery and together we are aiming to be challenging for victory. Daniel Cooper has shown great potential around the Mountain Course already and coming from a successful 125cc background, we feel he has the riding style required to get the best from our machinery.’
