Tommy Hill of Worx Crescent Suzuki in what was two tough races in round seven of the British Superbike Championship came away with two hard earned second place finishes to put him back on top of the championship standings.
In both of the contests Hill found himself in the lower leaderboard positions in the middle of the race but was able to gain ground in the remaining half of the race to a second place finish. In both races Hill made his fastest recorded lap in the last two laps. Hill’s rival, Josh Brookes had victories in the first races of the weekend but his bike went out on him in the final race, which gave the championship lead to Hill who passed Michael Laverty in the last laps of the contest. Hill now has a two point lead over Brookes in the British Superbike Championship and leads the British Superbike Championship podium points table by a margin of one point.
Hill’s team mate, Yukio Kagayama had more misfortune in the first race of the day, which happened to be his first race of the racing weekend, as the clutch on his bike had a technical issue in the sighting lap; this forced Kagayama to have to start the race from the pit lane. He was able to finish 21st. In the second race Kagayama faired better starting from P24 and running an impressive race that gave him a top 10 finish
