Husqvarna Electric Dirt Bikes

It seems KTM wasn’t the brand making an electric dirt bike offering at the 2011 EICMA show. Husqvarna continued to redefine itself for the future with the introduction of the Husqvarna E-Go Concept. At the physical size of a 125cc dirt bike, the Husqvarna E-Go is the exploration of entry-level electric street motard.

Like the KTM Freeride E, the battery pack looks slightly too small for serious street duty, but honestly the E-Go is more about the fact that the Swedish brand are exploring electric motorcycles in anticipation of developing that market further. Hoping that electric bikes will bring in a new generation of rider, the Husqvarna E-Go seems to hit all the right spots- but as always, time will tell.

Details are light on the Husqvarna E-Go concept- it only weighs a miniature 80kg (176 lbs). Some obvious design elements from the rest of the Husqvarna line have been incorporated, especially from the Husqvarna Nuda 900, but the definite highlight of the Husqvarna E-Go concept is its single-sided dual-fork front suspension.

It’ll be interesting to see which of these design features and functions come to fruition if and when the real bike appears on the market.
