John Hopkins is to make his return to racing this weekend in the World Superbike after recovering from a pre-season accident at Phillip Island which saw him break several bones in his hand.
Hopkins, who races for Fixi Suzuki, has been given the all-clear from doctors after undergoing treatment which involved physiotherapy and sessions in a hyperbaric chamber.
Hopkins has said of his imminent return to racing;
‘I am so pleased to get the all clear and cannot wait to get on the bike again. I’ve been given strict instructions not to do any riding this week but I’ve occupied my time with physiotherapy and training . All of this has helped me recover quickly and I have no doubt I will be as fit as I can be in Imola. I am really happy with my hand, how well it;s been healing and the range of movement I have got.’
‘I’m really looking forward to catching up with everyone at Crescent Fixi Suzuki and getting back to the racetrack. I missed it, but I feel ready and raring to go.’
