Keith Amor Replaces Injured Steve Plater for TT Races

Honda (UK) is delighted to announce that Keith Amor, Scottish racing sensation will be racing for the HM Plant Honda team at the upcoming Isle of Man TT race. Amor signed on as a replacement for Steve Plater who is out of the racing action due to an injury that he sustained in a crash in the North West 200 event that took place last week, Plater broke his arm n the crash.

Amor will be partnering up with John McGuinness, the legendary racer who has won the TT race an astounding 15 times, to ride the two Honda Fireblades in Superbike competition and in Senior TT competition. Amor is both familiar with the bike as well as the race, having rode Honda Superbikes since he debuted on the Island back in 2007.

In 2007, Amor had a credible 12th place finish as what was his best finish in the Supersport class and additionally, Amor was to become the second fastest newcomer of all time behind Steve Plater, clocking a lap of 124.856mph in the Senior TT event. In 2008, on only his second time to the Isle, Amor made his first podium as he took third place in the opening Supersport race. Then in 2009, he gave a repeat performance as he tallied up another podium finish as he placed third in the Superstock event.

Keith Amor will ride for the HM Plant Honda team in both Superbke and Senior TT races as number five, but he will also race in both Supersport TT events on a privately entered bike, a Honda CBR600RR.
