Laverty Comes Away with Double Podium at Round 5 of BSB at Mallory Park

While the Worx Suzuki team of Tommy Hill and Yukio Kagayama had somewhat of a disappointing day at the track at Mallory Park, Michael Laverty of the Relentless by TAS Suzuki team enjoyed success as he walked away with two podium finishes at the fifth round of the British Superbike Championship. At this round of the BSB, Michael raced to his to third place in both of the day’s races.

Coming in third place in the races at Mallory Park keeps Michael in third place in the Championship standings, with 133 points, trailing the leader, Worx Suzuki rider Tommy Hill. Josh Brookes is right in between Tommy and Michael in second place with 150 points.

Alastair Seeley, Michaels fellow Relentless by TAS Suzuki rider gained 11 points at this his debut appearance at the Mallory Park British Superbike Championship round as he came away with a 10th place and an 11th place finish. Alastair, who is the current National Superstock champion, is only eight points away from being in the Title Fighters top six, Alastair being in eighth place.

The team manager for Relentless by TAS, Philip Neil stated that he was pleased enough with the weekend’s results and that it was nice to be in the BSB paddock again. When commenting on the recent string of third place finishes, two at the TT and an additional two at Mallory Park, he said that he was pretty content with a couple of more podium finishes, the fourth and fifth in a row for Michael, and that it was good for the championship, but he knew that they had the capability to win races.
