Michael Laverty of Relentless by TAS Suzuki who after a fourth place finish in the first race in Sunday’s British Superbike Championship race managed to make it to the podium in race number two.
While it was Laverty’s team mate and fellow Relentless by TAS Suzuki rider made it to the podium in race number one, in the second race it was Laverty’s turn to showcase his riding abilities on the Snetterton circuit. As the race got underway, Laverty was in third place as he completed the third lap, following hard on the taillights of racers Brookes and Ellison. Laverty then was able, through some aggressive racing, to make his way into the second place at the halfway point. The race wore on, Laverty was afforded an opportunity to overtake the leader of the race, Kiyonari after the safety car appeared later on in the race, and achieved the lead position twice before succumbing to the Japanese rider who took first and Hill who finished in second place.
Laverty’s third place finish gave him his sixth podium finish of this season, and keeps him in fourth place in the overall British Superbike Championship standings. Alastaire Seeley, Laverty’s fellow Relentless by TAS rider who made the podium in the first race crashed while disputing fifth place with Ellison.
