Lightweight TT returns

Sunday, January 8 2012

In 2012, the Tourist Trophy will see the return of “Lightweight TT”. Although there will no longer be 125 and 250cc classes, the Supertwins category returns. This category proved such a success at the Ulster Grand Prix and at Scarborough that it has been enough to convince the Government of The Isle of Man to organize a race for the 2012 edition.

A rider key to the development of Supertwin motorcycle racing is KMR Kawasaki’s Ryan Farquhar. In addition to Ryan, KMR has hired 20-year-old Jamie Hamilton in a bid for this year’s Ulster Grand Prix.

Confirmed for the start of the Lightweight TT is team Blackhorse Kawasaki with Dan Kneen and Adrian Archibald. The presence of top riders such as Guy Martin, are also hoped to receive confirmation. Let’s hope Martin’s ready to chase his first victory at the Tourist Trophy since 2004.

Not to forget Maria Costello, who will bring not only speed but femininity to the race course! Starting Friday 8th June 2012, incorporating three laps and £25,000 worth of prizes- not to be missed.
