Michael Laverty Crowned Sunflower King with Winning Performance in Sunflower Races

In what proved to be a good ending for his 2010 season, Michael Laverty took a hat trick of wins at the Sunflower Trophy Races on Saturday. Laverty, who dominated the practice sessions, rode his Relentless by TAS Suzuki super bike in three faultless performances in the Superbike races in Northern Ireland.

The wins on Saturday brought the British Superbike star’s Sunflower Trophy numbers to six over the past eight years, additionally, the 29-year-old now has an amazing record of 18 career wins in all classes the Sunflower end of the racing season competition.

Meanwhile, Alastair Seeley made several minor alterations during the day, making improvements on his GSX-R1000 Superbike and finished the day up on the podium. James Westmoreland, the Relentless by TAS Suzuki debutant, also had a podium finish in the Supersport class.

When commenting on his Sunflower Trophy wins on Saturday, Michael Laverty said that the wins were a perfect way to cap off a successful season and an enjoyable season. Laverty pointed out that it had been a dominant weekend for them as they had led every practice session and led every lap in all three Superbike events
