No, we don’t quite understand all the rules of timings and checkpoints either… but what the hell, it sure looks fun! Enduro racing is a sport of skill and time keeping; merging the technicality of trials with the speed of motocross.
The Enduro bike has many similarities to the MX bike and increasingly, enduro riders are using MX bikes as platform bases for building up as enduro bikes. Specifications of enduro bikes must be road legal, so a headlight and an engine muffler are a must. These bikes have come to be known as ‘dual-sport’ bikes, capable of off-road and road riding, but not the best bike for either.
Enduro continues to grow in popularity and is yet another motorbike adventure sport which is also becoming a firm favourite with female bikers, with more women getting involved in competitions than ever before. Competitions and rides go on regularly and if you’ve got a bike, for a small entry fee you can get involved. We’d recommend it because it’s great value for money as riding can often go on for hours if it’s a longer course and you’ll really enjoy getting into this sport, it’s more than just fast riding it’s a technical challenge which requires time keeping skills and keen observation- what’s not to love?!
