A bike without a seat? Yes, that’s a Trials bike! It may sound like a strange phenomenon to some, but the reasoning behind it is simple – it doesn’t need one, in a sport which requires the rider to stand and hold their balance whilst maneuvering their machine, a seat would just be in the way!
Trials Riding has really taken off big time in Britain and Spain and is enjoyed by many at both a competitive level and purely as a recreational sport. If you’re interested in getting involved in Trials Riding, you’ll be happy to know that there are sites and trails dotted all over the place where you can go along and have a go. Once you get to grips with Trials, you’ll find the skills are quite easily transferable to other off-road motorcycle sports such as MX and Enduro; Trials can really gain you a firm foothold in the motorcycle sport world.
Trials Riding in Spain is something every Trials rider should experience at least once, aside from the obvious (the appeal of Spanish sun over British drizzle) The mountainous terrain and stunning views certainly give Trials Riding experience in Spain kudos over British riding. But that’s not to say that Trials in Britain isn’t worth checking out, even if only for a one time try.
