In race number one on Sunday Alastair did not let a slow start hold him back; once the British Superbike Championship got into his rhythm he pushed by Chris Walker and closed the gap between himself and James Ellison and fellow Relentless rider Michael Laverty. By the time the eighth lap rolled around Alastair had made it to third place, and then on the 14th lap he was able to make it to second place following Josh Brookes. As the race reached its final laps, Tommy Hill and James Ellison threatened Alastair’s bid for the podium; however, Alastair held on to achieve a third place finish. Tommy Hill was able to finish in the second place position as Alastair’s team mate Michael Laverty finished in fourth place.
