Rendell Recovering Well As MWR On The Hunt For 3rd Rider For Stock 600 Team

Tuesday, March 22 2011

Edward Rendell is showing all the signs of making a fantastic recovery from the injury’s he suffered while testing in Spain earlier this month following successful surgery in London last Monday.

Surgeons spent several hours using metal plates and screws to rebuild his badly broken pelvis, and all reports coming back from the hospital are good. It is expected that Rendell will make a return to the trackfor the MWR team this season but it is still to early to say when.

In the meantime a third bike has been made available for the Gearlink Kawasaki satellite team MWR torun in this years National Metzeler Superstock 600 British Championship.

MARK WEBSTER ( TEAM OWNER )

I have just returned from visiting Ed at St George’s Hospital in London and am astonished to see the progress he has made even in the past 4 days.

Unbelievably he can now stand unaided and is already talking about getting back on a bike, although the severity of his injuries will prevent him from doing so in the very near future. But I am sure with the determination he is showing it will be a lot sooner than most people are expecting.

The team are now looking to run a third bike this season which is something we had talked about doing from the word go. Although Ed’s ride will not be taken over by anyone and his bike will be ready for him whenever he decides to return, we must look to field an additional rider to run alongside Glenn Irwin in this years championship. I feel it would be a great opportunity for any young rider wishing to compete at this level in a good team environment.
