It’s been an eventful 2012 season for the Repsol Honda MotoGP team and now it’s getting ready for the final in Valencia, with riders Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner both angling for a win to round off the year.
With the final championship positions decided two weeks ago at the Phillip Island round in Australia, Dani ends a successful season in second place, with 307 points. He is certain to be hoping to bring the year to a close with a victory, especially because 2012 has proven to be the best season of his career to date, with six wins and fourteen podiums. Casey meanwhile has ended the season in third, with 238 points; impressive considering he suffered a serious ankle injury which forced him to sit out a number of rounds. Valencia marks Casey’s final ever MotoGP race before he bows out for good, so a win would allow him to end his premier class career in style. If the duo can keep 2012 winner, Jorge Lorenzo, at bay then a Repsol Honda victory is looking pretty likely. Casey said;
‘I hope we can be competitive there (Valencia) and with the track going left, it should suit our bike and me a little better at this point. It’s not going to be easy but it would be ice to get another good result in my final race in MotoGP.’
