Revealed – UK’s best and worst drivers

Sunday, December 9 2007

A new survey has revealed the names and locations of the UK’s best and worst drivers – according to insurance statistics showing who is most likely to crash!

So if you are called Ben and you like in Huddersfield then congratulations, you have a crash risk rating of 79% and are the male more likely to have a prang than anyone else. And if you’re Laura from Dudley in the Midlands, then you are the female equivilant of Ben with a 72% crash rating!

The figures above are compared to just 1.1% if you are an Edward from Cleveland and 1.6% for Eleanor from Edinburgh.

Industry analysts are now warning that those with a higher risk rating could find themselves hit with some big insurance rises. Insurance companies usually rate bike insurance risks on factors such as age, riding experience and NCB but there is nothing to stop them delving further into their experience of claims if they thought it appropriate.

Below you can see our summary of results but safe to say if you want to stay on your bike then avoid Scotland, Northern England, the Midlands and the South. Oh hold on a minute, we’re all screwed then!!!
