Riders in Liverpool pay over 700k in speeding fines
Motorcycle riders in Liverpool and the surrounding areas are being targeted by police in the North West as part of a crackdown on speeding this Spring.
Already this year over £700,000 has been added to the speeding camera coffers from bikers in the North West after police were seen day after day, hour after hour on some of the best biking roads in the area.
On the A565, the main road between Liverpool and Southport. as many as 20 police offers have been pulling in bikers who they suspect have been speeding, or making some other misdemeanor. Such as breathing. Our reporter saw 7 bikes pulled in at one stage!
Clearly we all agree that speeding in the wrong area is a bad thing, but some of the places we have heard that the police are waiting to capture speeding bikers are just ridiculous. There are roads that get less than 30 cars in an hour and are great biking roads, yet these are exactly the types of area that the cameras are waiting in.
As if the poor motorist isnt being hit hard enough by our government, now we are being stalked by the boys in blue for having a bit of fun.
