In a sudden move, World Supersport star, Sam Lowes, had decided to sign a three year deal with Russian-based team, Yakhrich Yamaha. The deal will enable Sam to move to World Superbikes in 2014 and according to the Lincolnshire rider, will give him a real shot at the title for next year.
Sam will partner the team’s current rider, Vladimir Leonov, with technical support coming from Yamaha Motor Europe. He said;
‘I’m extremely pleased to be joining the Yakhrich Motorsport Team. They’ve given me a fantastic chance to compete and fight for the world title in 2013. I look forward to riding the Yamaha R6, an extremely strong bike, as well as starting my work with the Yakhrich team soon.
