The first day of the official test for World Supersport got underway today at Phillip Island, with Yakhnich Motorsport’s Sam Lowes topping the timesheets with a fastest lap of 1’33.950 – making him the only rider to make it into the bracket. Despite a slow start, it didn’t take Lowes long to get going, and he was quickly up to speed.
Reigning champion, Kenan Sofuoglu was behind Lowes, followed by Vladimir Leonov, who suffered a fall at turn nine after an oil spill on track. Mathew Scholtz suffered the same fate, with the session then being red-flagged for track cleaning.
