Sissis signs for Ajo Motorsport

16 year old Australian, Arthur Sissis, has signed to race for Ajo Motorsport Team in the 2012 Moto3 season alongside another former Red Bull MotoGP Rookie, Danny Kent. It was the success of both young riders in the 2010 and 2011 Rookies Cup that finalised their inclusion in the KTM team.

Sissis says of the signing: “It’s a dream come true. This has been the best year of my life. I have learnt so much in the Rookies Cup. I was a speedway rider before and learnt everything about road racing in the Cup. I know that racing in the GP class is a new challenge but I’m ready for it.”

In the 2011 Rookies Cup, Sissis came in at second place, behind Lorenzo Baldassarri. However, 15 year old Italian, Baldassarri is too young to race in GPs and will therefore stay in the Rookies Cup for 2012. For Baldassarri, along with the other 23 Rookies, the year starts with the pre-season testing at Estoril, Portugal on April 2nd, with the first race of the 15 event season taking place at Jerez on April 28th. The best rider at the end of the season is guaranteed a place in the factory KTM Moto3 team for 2013.
