Known simply as “Lester” to his friends, Mr Short is surprisingly competent on a motorbike despite not having a motorbike licence. He’s been riding motocross bikes since he were a lad, starting with his trusty CR-125.
He has a natural ability that would fool you into thinking he was born and raised on a motorbike, which would certainly require good balance! His confidence often out strips his ability which is why we’re all somewhat scared about him venturing out on to the road. Fellow road users beware as he’s recently passed his CBT and has plans to take his relationship with bikes to the next step and actually get his full licence.
Lester’s ability and over confidence, combined with his need for speed, was more than evident on the go-kart track whilst representing the Bike Insurer, where he recorded the fastest lap of the team for the 2011 Insurance Endurance at Daytona Milton Keynes. On the other hand, during a practice session he was black-flagged for a ramming incident in which he actually broke the kart he was driving! The highs and lows of a day in the life of Lester.
