A deal set to last two years has been signed between Ducati and Team Alstare for the 2013-2014 World Superbike seasons. The setup will include riders Carlos Checa (pictured) and Ayrton Badovini who will join the Alstare staff to prepare for the 2013 World Championship, aboard Ducati 1199 Panigale machines. The team will compete under the name ‘Team Ducati Alstare’.
Work will begin almost immediately between Alstare technicians and the Ducati Superbike development team, with pre-winter tests due to take place at Aragon on the 14th-15th November and on the 28th-30th November at Jerez. Francis Batta, Team Alstare owner, said he is thrilled to be tackling the 2013 and 2014 seasons with Ducati;
‘For me, it’s an absolute thrill to be able to join the Ducati family again. Together, we were so successful in the past and Ducati remains a reference brand for me today. We are going to face a challenge which is highly stimulating both for me and for my team and we will apply our absolute best efforts to making sure this is a successful endeavour.’
A partnership between the two took place from 1995-1997, when Ducati and Alstare competed together in the European Supersport, World Supersport and World Superbike series.
