Stoner, who was mainly concerned with getting familiar with the Honda bike, done it in style, improving by 0.709s from his day one effort and making it through 62 laps during the second day of testing. Most of the racers were attempting to make up for the time lost in the morning on the day before, time lost because of wet conditions.
Lorenzo, the Factory Yamaha rider, had a best lap time of 1’32.179 on his M1 adorned with a number one in honour of his 2010 MotoGP title. Lorenzo finished the day a little after 1pm after completing 30 laps on the Ricardo Tormo track. He rode on two different bikes, one being the new M1 and the other an updated version of his 2010 bike. Meanwhile, Ben Spies, Lorenzo’s team mate was focused on the chassis settings on his new 2011 machine. Spies who also finished his day early, riding only 49 laps, was only behind his team mate by 0.143s on his third trip around the circuit.
