Thundersport GB in association with The Bike Insurer, returns for its sixth thrilling season in 2013 – and this year promises to be better than ever! The event kicks off on the weekend of the 9th-10th March at Brands Hatch with the Race of the South meeting. But what do the different classes of Thunderpsort GB mean? Read on to find out!

Aprilia Superteens Challenge - This is the racing category which allows riders as young as twelve to get started in competitive racing. Known as the ‘Star-Makers Championship’, it has kicked off the careers of almost all the top-flight professional riders in the UK today. The riders to watch this year include Zak Corderoy, Ross Simpson and Sam Smith.

RRV450GPs - Twice as powerful as the RS125 machines, these bikes are surprisingly lightweight thanks to their weight-saving configuration. A fast and furious category, a spot by the spectator’s fence is an absolute must!

Superstock 600 Class - Both Callan Cooper and Sam Cox make the move up from RRV450GP action to join the Superstock 600 class, where they will make the most of the Formula 600 and Superstock 600 spec bikes in The Van Insurer 600 Sportsman Elite. Tipped for the top this year is Lee Williams on his Honda CBR600, who may well prove to be the hottest talent across the board for 2013.

The Bike Insurer GPI/Superstock 1000 - 2012′s 600 Champion, Danny Murphy, makes the move up to this category for 2013, with his old rival Tommy McHale in hot pursuit! Others taking the plunge include Barry Teasdale, Kyle Wilks, Simon Critchlow and Bill Callister. One thing’s for certain – the older riders in this category will certainly have their work cut out!

CB500 - The basis for the HMT Racing Thundersport 500 class and the cheapest way to race, this class is all about  rider talent. Neil Bainbridge is the pre-season favourite and definitely one to watch!

A&R Racing Streetfighters - Essentially the bigger brother to the 500s, the Streetfighter class provides some top-class racing action. Reece Rothwell was last year’s winner, but Scot Adam won’t be letting him off the hook that easily when he makes his 2013 return!

The Bike Insurer will be providing extensive images from all of the Thundersport GB events, and what’s more, they’ll be absolutely free for you to download and enjoy! All that remains is to look forward to is another fantastic Thundersport season!
