Worx Crescent Suzuki rider, Tommy Hill, despite challenging weather conditions and technical difficulties was able to keep his lead in the British Superbike Championship. Hill was able to win an eighth and a fifth place finish in the penultimate round of the championship at Silverstone. After the two wet races, Hill has an eleven-point lead going into the last round of the championship that will be held at Oulton Park in two weeks.

The opening race of the day got underway under dry conditions; however, when the rain set in the race had to be restarted with all racers on wet tyres. Meanwhile, Hill was having difficulties with an electrical problem that caused the dashboard on his Suzuki to shut down. Even though sorted for the restart, Hill was not able to have his wet settings installed before the start, this caused Hill to race in ‘damage limitation’ mode and have to settle for an eighth place finish.
After getting the electrical glitch taken care of and having his preferred wet setting, Hill done better in the second race. However, Hill was beset with excessive wheel spin coming off the line that forced him to labour hard to pass several non Title Fighters, with the lost time, Hill finished in fifth place.
Hills teammate, Yukio Agama had problems with an imperfect set-up in race one and finished in 13th place. In the second race, Yuki got off to a better start with much improved revised settings but due to a fogging visor finished in 14th place.
