Top British Superbike Riders Race Before Silverstone Moto GP Fans

A lineup of some of the finest British Superbike riders will be hitting the track at this weekend’s Metzler National Superstock rounds at the opening of the Silverstone Moto GP to through some fire to what is already a flaming hot series.

British Superbike riders Josh Brookes, Ian Lowry, and Simon Andrews who placed fourth to sixth in the previous years British Superbike series will now go up against a gathering of regular Superstock racers who are all wanting to impress the huge Moto GP crowd at the revised circuit.

This outstanding roster of racers underscores the value of the Metzler series to the manufacturers and to the teams as 1000cc virtually stock bikes upon road based tyres reveal the true abilities of the racer as well as the capabilities of the bikes as well. Metzeler’s newly introduced Racetec Interact tyres have already made a huge dent in prior Superstock records this year, cutting on average a second off each lap.

Josh Brookes, who will be the stand-in rider for an injured Steve Plater, who brought home victories in the first two rounds for the HM Plant Honda squad, stated that he was really fired up and was wanting to provide a good show for the fans at the races.

Ian Lowry, who will be coming back home to the Relentless by TAS Suzuki team stated that he could not wait to have some fun on the Superstock bike and get it back up on the podium.

Simon Andrews, who will be replacing Conor Cummins for the Blackhorse Kawasaki team said that he was excited about competing on the new Silverstone track layout and to be in front of the MotoGP paddock.

The Metzeler Superstock races will be held on Saturday at 16.25 and on Sunday at 15.30
