In the aftermath of a race day that was held up due to the weather, the TT Zero Electric bikes finally made their way onto the mountain course at 8:25pm to run their first practice race for the Isle of Man 2010 TT Zero Electric Races.

Ten motorcycles have been confirmed to race in the 2010 TTS Zero race, which include the following teams; Evolve, Aging Racing, Brunei and Kingston University teams, from the United States, MotoCzysz, the Isle of Mans own racers ManTTx Racing, from Austria, HTBLAUVA-XX Project, the Swedish Electric Racers, and German-based Peace E Rider.
The teams are competing to win a £10,000 prize, which the Government of the Isle of Man will be awarding to the first of the teams to make a 100mph lap around the mountain course. This feat was first accomplished by Bob McIntyre back in 1957 on a conventional motorcycle.
During the first qualifying session, it was Mark Miller who came from across the Atlantic, who on a MotoCzysz EIPC had the best time at Glen Helen with 93.390mph, with Rob Barber of Team Agni right behind at 91.586mph. Miller stayed in the lead to Ballaugh at 96.327 and had an amazing 99.520mph at Ramsey, as Barber followed close with 96.670. Bringing up third place was Chris Palmer who clocked 80.913mph.
However, even though Miller got off to such a good start in the first qualifying race, his good fortune did not hold as he encountered problems at Cronkny Mona, this left Barber to have the best time at 84.875mph.
