Michel Fabrizio of Red Devils Roma Aprilia, topped the timesheets with a fastest lap of 1’31.317, just ahead of works Aprilia rider Eugene Laverty. The field was hugely competitive, with the top thirteen riders within just one second of each other. BMW Mottorad GoldBet SBK’s Marco Melandri came in third, closely followed by Leon Camier of Fixi Crescent Suzuki. Behind him was Chaz Davies, Leon Haslam of Pata Honda WSBK and 2012 runner up Tom Sykes from the Kawasaki Racing Team.
Carlos Checa from Ducati Team Alstare took to the track, despite a huge crash during the morning’s free practise session. He ended the day in 12th position, after completing seven laps. For the top ten times of the session, read on:
