The bike is made from poor quality materials and has a poor quality finish. This means that everything on the bike has seized up, and it's almost impossible to maintain properly. Maintenance is a huge issue, with seized and rusted nuts and bolts, and difficulty of access to main engine parts. As such, these bikes are unmaintained and are prone to fail at any moment. The fruits of Kaizen: the Kawasaki ER5. Marking the point where Japanese manufacture gave up on good quality and kowtowed to the suits. A truly modern bike designed to expire, with a built-in failure/obsolescence.

Great bike for next to no money. Had one for over 10 years and never had any issues with it. Very reliable. Not the fastest but will eat miles on the motorways or back...
